About Stubberup
Founded by Danish artist and curator Louise Stubberup, Stubberup Gallery was born from a vision to champion raw contemporary talent and create a bridge between emerging and established artists. Louise believes that every great artist deserves a beginning — a space to be seen, challenged, and celebrated.
The gallery’s mission is to offer first solo exhibitions to promising new voices while curating powerful dialogues with artists who have already defined their path. The result is a living, breathing platform where experimentation, beauty, and imperfection coexist.
Louise’s curatorial approach reflects her own artistic spirit — bold, authentic, and inclusive. Stubberup Gallery is not a white-cube institution; it’s an urban meeting place where visitors, collectors, and artists can connect across boundaries. Everyone is welcome — whether you come to explore, to reflect, or simply to feel inspired.
The gallery space
Located in Vesterå 20, Aalborg, the gallery unfolds across roughly 350 m², divided into three distinct worlds:
• The Industrial Space – raw brick walls and a tactile atmosphere evoking creativity in motion.
• The Black Space – a dramatic, contemplative space where art meets depth and contrast.
• The White Space – bright, timeless, and warm, with classic wooden floors.
Together they form a multidimensional universe that mirrors Louise’s belief: art should be real, emotional, and accessible to everyone. Stubberup Gallery invites you to discover, feel, and take part in a movement that celebrates contemporary art at its most honest.
